Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Retopology tool makes model look sharper

Hello! So, I was trying to export a model from Vroid study to Maya in order to animate it, however, it{s original topology is horrible (Even though the texturing and rigging seem to work fine), I'm afraid its original topology will mess up my render times and shading.

I've tried fixing the topology by using the retopologize tool. It worked fine with her hair, however, it messes up the body geometry a bit, making it look more square, even if it fixes its topology quite well.

Things I've tried:

Using the cleanup tool before retopologizing.

Changing the target face count to higher and lower values.

Reducing uniformity, regularity, and maxing anisotropy.

Can anyone help me with this? I would really appreciate it if someone could point me to what new things I could try to fix it or somewhere to look.

PS: Imigr URL to get a better idea of what's going on. https://imgur.com/a/edem3L2

Thanks!
