turning your card to a quadro won't overclock your card so you dont have to worry about overheating/melting....

your gaming *might*, just might be a little slower beacuse quadro's are not for gaming but I'm sure you wont see any difference...

I've said this before. I softquadroe'd my MSI ti4200 up to the Quadro 750XGL and really haven't noticed any speed/performance differences on the odd occasion I fire up Quake III. With Maya, i think the biggest fix for me is that I don't get that bugginess in hypershade anymore where the shader icons or names are sometimes blanked out.

Hi.

As of now SoftQuadro does NOT support modification of generation 3x chips. That means no GeforceFX to QuadroFX modifications right now. At least the last time I Checked (Yesterday).

The primary improvement's when modding the Ti series and running Maya are in my experience: Slightely better framerates, more steady framerate in animation playback, No overlay problems such as no names in the hypergraph or screwed up time indicator in grapheditor (it's surposed to be a nice clear red) + you get much better speed in stuff like paint FX and weightpainting that require overlays.

So it's just might be worth modding, depending what you Maya for. (Sorry for mentioning it here, but i seem to recall overall performance boost in 3dsMax... sorry don't hit me user added image )

Cheers,
Nenox.

hey

no fx support is not implemented yet
but unwinder (the programmer) is currently working on it

a normal geforce is not an option
the thing is
is it worth to go for the original quadro (and pay much more)
or is the softmodded geforce good enough (gf3 was the same as quadro3 (dcc) but i heard something about the gf4 sofmodded to quadro isnĀ“t as good as a real quadro)
