Option Box Shortcuts

Just been reading the tips to Maya section in my current issue of 3D World and George Cairns says that if you hit Command + ~ then the option box stays open...

Tried that didn't work! But he is using a Mac I am working on a PC. Is the shortcut different?

Kevin baby! I AM using a PC its George Cairns who is using the Mac user added image

Anyway what is the keyboard shortcut ctrl + ~?

BTW I hung up my boxing gloves a while ago on the PC Mac thing - it got boring... I use me PC for 3D and me Mac for DV user added image
