attaching curves

hi, I drew 2 EP curves one linear1 and one cubic3. now I want to attach them so I can duplicate it and make a loft.
However every time I use the attach cuves (option box) command it deforms the curves.

anyone know a way to attach them without having the curves deform?

here's the 2 curves:

Add more points around the areas that you want it to be sharp? Im not huge on curves and everything.. but one thing i know is if you have one thats operating in straight/sharp edges and another thats a curve, when you join them its going to take the characteristics of either one of them. In this case it seems like it went curving. So yea, add some points and pull them realy close to your straight edges. I dont really know what to tell you but maybe that will do the job until someone comes along to give a proper answer user added image.

hmm, that doesn't seem very precise but I'll give it a try.

anyone else know how to do this?

If you want to use cubic curves ... three clicks in the same place (Be sure to use point snapping) will give you a sharp edge.

Choose Connect instead of Blend in the options should do it.

I'll combine this thread with your previous.

here's what adldesigner said:

in this thread (that I hope will be deleted, cuz I don't want to doublepost)

now is this really the only way? it just doesn't seem good, though it does work.

argh, what the hell just happened here?

sure hope I don't get into any trouble for this. but could someone plz answer my question?

btw, no connect doesn't work. it deforms my curve. one of the hard edges becomes smoothed.
