This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Low Poly Bart simpson

This is too learn a bit of low poly, and to have something to show game modders who are looking for artist. Any and all crits would be a HUGE help.

How many polys is he? And wheres the rest (the top) of his head? The spikes. Looks pretty good tho. user added image

Hes around 250 tris right now, and i haven't done the spikes, that the part that i really don't konw how to do low poly.........

Any ideas?

3 sided spikes/cones? Thats the only way I can think of.

Hey vectorman,

realtime bumb-mapping are supported by more and more game-graphic-boards which makes detailed modelling for games a bit different than ealier. you might want to check this page:

I think I've heard that a similar tool is being developed for maya!
