No, like Zyk0tiK said kit cars are a great way to get a great car. You have several options depending on your price range.
1: purchase a kit from a kit car company who will supply you with everything apart from engine. Then you assemble it your self using instructions. (about £25,000)
2: Build the whole car yourself by buying all the materials and doing all the cutting and welding yourself. This is what i did for the first and will be doing for this one as it's the cheapest method and the most fun as you can look at the finished car and say you made it. ( about £10,000 - 15,000)
3: The most expensive for those people who can't be bothered to do the work get the kit car company to build the qhole car ready to race. (racing radicals are about £50,000 and pilbeams £120,000)
