Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

converting surfaces

OK, anytime I convert nurbs to polys, I get all these nurbtess nodes, and converted nodes, and then I have to delete
a lot of nodes and I don't know why? Is there a way to cleanly convert? I basically have a lofted nurb surface, and when I convert to polys, there are still nodes from the nurb, and converted nurb, etc... Also, how do you move a pivot point to the center of a group so that all members of the group now use this pivot point as a pivot, not the local?

So if I group 10 boxes of different sizes, spaced around, how to make them all rotate around one point.

thanks.

To answer the first one. I'm not sure how you got those extra nodes but try resetting the settings. You do not have any options to delete original so this must be done manually.

by selecting all the objects and than group them together by hitting ctrl+g this will center the pivot to all the objects. You can move the pivot around by hitting the insert key. I hope this helps.
