This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
I've used an area light pointing on my scene (a car, on the ground with a few buildings etc) and the light is good, but I just want to make the shadows more darker (they are a little to light)
When I make the area light bigger it darkens my shadows, but it also brightens up my scene too much!
- In other words, How can I darken the shadows without altering the light?
Thanks again, I'll make this my last query I promise
BTW, I modeled a sample scene using a directional light source using ray traced shadows. This is just to give you an idea of what they will look like. Ambient light is from HDRI for more realism.
I used depth map shadows at first. The problem with it for me was that I just couldn't get the realism that ray traced shadows offered. But anyway; experiment, and see what works best for you.
