My best advice is if you cant find a specific subject/tutorial for maya, you will prorbaly be able to find one for another 3d package, but watch/read it as a lot of the things you may learn will be transferable, you just need to know where the tools are to do it in maya!

If you get stuck on anything just ask in this forum. Everybody here seems to be really helpfull and somebody will know the answer to what you need to know.

You're using a polygon sphere instead of a NURBS sphere like the tut is using.

Thank you! I want to say that this is my first experience using Maya, so I have one more question. After choosing Isoparm, in the tutorial he made a doted circle in the bottom of the sphere. How can I do that?

After choosing Isoparm, in the tutorial he made a doted circle in the bottom of the sphere. How can I do that?

1. Right-click over the selected object and choose "isoparm".
2. Left-click on the isoparms (blue circles) and move your mouse still holding down the left-mouse button which will give you dotted yellow circles. Hold shift to create multiple.
3. To insert new isoparms, in the "surfaces" menu set, go to edit NURBS>insert isoparms (or for quick press space bar in viewport>edit NURBS>insert isoparms)
