Whats the best way to make curtains?

i using Maya 5.0. And tried but it just flyes away. Frustrating.

I do a sqigle with curves, then extrude them, add whaever detail you want, then turn them into a softbody and paint weights on it. Use constrain points at certain locations at the top of the curtain and thats it.

What is "sqigle"?
And how do i make consrait with softbodies and not RigidBodies`?
