Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Problems with VW model

OK, so here is the problem. I decided to try and model a VW camper. So I got my blueprints and set them up etc.

I have looked at Mike's shark VIP tutorial to see how to draw curves and then use boundary.

The thing is (this is a bit hard to explain), I can't seem to get the curves to line up and it's driving me mad. They look ok in front view but then in side they look naff etc.

I was just wondering if there is a tutorial out there that covers this sort of modelling in detail.

P.S. Here is a screenshot.

Sounds like your references are off. If you are using planes and and using the reference as a texture, make sure the plane's size is equal to the resolution of your pic, or you will get stretching. If you are just projecting through the cameras, then open the references in photoshop and make sure they size up correctly.

also remember that for boundery to work the ends of the curves -must- touch each other.. the best way to make that happen is by useing point snapping when moveing the end points

ponitsnapping is found in the top toolbar a bit to the right
or by pressingand holding the V key (i think) before pressing the lmb to move something
