Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Well, I think that depends on what kind of terrain are you looking for. If you just want some hills and stuff like that, you can just paint them (I think the tool is called artisan) onto the nurbs or poly plane. I think another way could also be by makeing a hight/displacement map (first you make a poly plane, assign a displacement map to it, and then convert displacement to polys). But i'm not a pro when it comes to making terrains.

Hope this can help you. user added image

Hi there,
I do allot of geological illustrations and Im always up against time and budgets, so I use Bryce for my terrains then export them as OBJ, You can export at different levels of complexity with the texture maps, which is easy and fast!.

It is by my will alone I set my mind in motion
