Hey Jango, I am doing good, I am busy doing some really cool volunteer work at the moment, so all my personal projects have been put aside for the time being. How is your job going on your side?

Yeah its good, I just finished rigging a soccer player for work on Thursday last week. It was the first one I've done for a production pipeline and I must say I think it went quite well. The dudes in the office seem to be pleased with it so for me that says a lot. I know they'll tell me if there are problems, (I hope) Its got a fair bit of control on it. The sleeves move accordingly with arm position as do the legs with the shorts and the socks can be lowered also. plus theres a load of controls on the hands, separate finger controls plus hand positions like fist, point, gesturing realaxed hands, spread etc etc.

I did it all with subd on the clothing which I then smooth skinned with wraps and blend shapes for them so the control is there and it looks convincing without the use of cloth as we dont have time for simulations and stuff on our deadlines.

Phew!!

All the best

WOW! That sounds like an awsome rig. What is the character for? A game?

Anyway great job with the villiain. Maybe he should have a mask or something on to give him more mistery. Anyway great work! Keep it up!

Hey Thanks Guys!!

Yeah thats Paint FX on there. I'm using Maya 6 Complete cos I cant afford Unlimited just yet, but its good cos you can Paint on polys now in 6. I only use the subds for modeling then convert once I'm happy with it. But I always save out the subd separatly anyway, convert that back to a lo res head, do the facial expressions, as the cv's aren't by the bucket load, back to SD then make a higher level conversion to poly (same as final default head) then feed in the shapes, voila!!!

Murph; dude dont put yourself down, believe me I've had days where the monitor could have gone out the window, cos I've felt my stuff is not as good as some peoples out there too. You just have to get on and be patient, it takes time. I look at this stuff some days and think is that okay?, but positive comments and crit from guys like yourselves make it worth while.

Later
