Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

A rat

I am now trying to model a rat, or something like rat.
I usualy start modeling with subdiv and then convert it to a polygon, then i model other body parts convert them to polygons too and then combine everything, delete the faces i dont need and then I merge vertices one by one and, finaly, i smooth everything. Am I on the right way?

And I also need some help with fur. How to make a fur on a ploygon? Do I need just a very good uv map? If you know any tips related with fur, please, share them. Thanks.

Nice start, but most people normally start with polygons and then convert to sub-d's.
