Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Locked Blend Shapes

I have been experimenting with blend shapes and notice that if I have the master one and five blends that the master is locked and the others are unlocked.

Now when I add another blend from the master that too seems to be locked, how to I unlock it so that I can move it. Indeed, how do I move the original?

Well if you select the one you want to unlock and then go to Channel box/Layer editor. You can shift select Translate, rotate and scale. And with these selected, hold down right mouse button.

There under Break connections you have two options: lock selected or unlock selected.

Hope this will help
