Spitfire - Texturing Video 1 Question

Hi Guys,

OK here comes another dumb question from me user added image

Why do I have the red in the top right hand quadrant? I noticed the layout doesn't look like this in Kurt's video.

Thanks
Paul

The red is most likely the shader you used in the hypershade.

the quadrant that is red is actually where you're going to want to get you UVs in to. The texture will also appear in that quadrant. the texture or shader will be repeated outside of that quadrant.

So does the color matter? and does it matter that Kurt's is grey and mine is red?

At this stage it shouldn't make any difference. Once the UVs are laid out you'll save that out as a file to paint the textures on. If red is bothering you, you can of course change it.
