Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Video Tutorials Help. . .

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to know that how do i come to know which part of the movie covers which topic. For eg. In the ninja tutorials there are around 14 parts which cover the modelling of the ninja in the different types i.e Polys, Nurbes and subdives. i am only intrested in poly modelling so i dont want to order the movies which cover nurbs and subdives. I am unable to understand which part cover what topic, and wanted to know so that i can order only those parts of the tutorial which covers poly modelling. Pls Advice.

None of our tutorials cover modelling the same thing in 3 different ways.

Most tutorials start out with pollys, convert to sub-divs for fine detail them back again ec cetera.

Yep. You can't really separate it out as that's the way Kurt (who did the ninja) tends to model. He starts with nurbs primitives, pushing and pulling CVs and lining up seams...then converts to poly to merge pieces and start detailing. Then, like Dave said, it's back and forth between poly/sub-d.

If you want a good pure poly modelling tut, try the apache...it's long but really worth it and completely step-by-step. It's not organic, but is really the same technique you'd use. Otherwise, just do a google on box modelling characters or something....lots of info out there.
