Extrude Edges/faces

Hi All, I am trying to figure out how to permanently modify an attribute on both the extrude edges function and the extrude faces function. The attribute in question is the "keep..."i forgot the entire name. In any case, this attribute is what defines whether when extruding multiple edges/faces it pulls them as one or as separate. I always use this attribute as on, but by default the attribute is set to off. How can I change the attribute within the function so that the default is set to on? This would save me quite a bit of time.

Go to Polygons--> Tool Options

and check the "Keep Faces Together" option.
