Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Yo wasup peeps!
I just got an AWESOME new computer
Pentium 4 with HT 3.0ghz
2MB ram
Raedon Xtasy Video Card (256mb)
The crappy part about it is that from time to time (about once or twice an hour) while working with Maya, I get some errors with my graphics accelerator not responding, so it has to do a VPU recover, and half of the time, after the recover, the thing is more f***'ed up then before, so it performs another recover, f***s up even more, recovers again... so on and so on.
Any idea on how the crap this is happening, why this is happening and how to stop this from happening... from happening?
Radeon Xtasy Video Cards tend to run hot. More so when under load.
From what you have described its a heat problem.
To test this pop the side off the computer and put a desk fan blowing into your machine.
Run for a few hours to see if the error happens. If not its heat. You'll then need to look at a 3rd party cooling solution for the card or extend the cooling for the case in general.
If you still have errors, its then likely to flaky video card drivers. Download latest version and try again.
Cool, thanks! It reall is strange, it has to recover only in some scenes, so I tend to just import a scene to the accepted one and save it as something else. It tends to cure the solution. Thanks for the advice, anyway.
