Combining Polys, Mel script?

Hey All,

I was wondering there is a script available to do the following:

After combining polygonal objects, is there a script that will also merge their adjacing vertices (if combining symetrical objects)?

It just seems to be a wasted step to go through each and every verticy that is actually in the same 3D space - and merge them.

Thanks in advance!user added image

I wanted to figure out how to do this too.

Ended up mirroring the object, then combining them and then making a selection down the middle of the two objects (thereby selecting all the vertices needed). Then I simply did edit polygons -> merge vertices (making sure the default settings for it were on).

Might not be ideal but it saves a lot of time going round every face/vertice and merging them (which I had ended up doing previously!) :headbang:

p.s, that method was from memory so it might not be totally exact

If you want to merge the vertices?

As already said, but again..

Go to edit polys menu> merge vertices. Open the menu and adjust the tolerance value to allow for the 'merge' distance between verts.

Cheers
