This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Has been a long time till i were here....MAN!!
I decided to model a spaceship and this is what i came out with after a day of modeling...
now id like to make a realistic Clay render can anyone help me and give a nice tutorial?I dont mean a simply 3 point lighting or so...i already used one i wanted to make it more realistic this time...i d like to have it realistic clay like....i use Maya 6.5
also modeling tips and C&Cs appreciated!!
okay the clay rendering is unimportant now...could anyone plz refer to my modeling and on tips on how i could do the cockpit and how i copuld improve the upper front of the torso?
or any c&C are welcome .....
tail looked a bit wierd (bendy) in the earlier post (top view) but you've sorted that out now.
If you flipped the top view 180 degrees and put a head on it you could make a character out of the shape
hi i remodeled the shape...the wings on the end of the ship looked kinda wrong....i added some engines...what do you think about the model?
thx Jay for the tip!do you know some good reference where i can see what you mean??(For example i dont like the "neck" of the ship...i simple do not have an idea of what to model...I'd like to get some reference images if possible...would be happy!)
The Spitfire tutorial (which I downloaded at this site) is WELL WORTH IT and has all the tutorial info you'll need on creating a cockpit and canopy. A cockpit is a cockpit, whether on a Spitfire or Star Destroyer!
You'll probably want to add some hard edges in spots, and go to town creating a UV map for your ship.
May I say that it is an EXCELLENT design?! Looking forward to seeing the finished product...!
