I don't think so.
If u know how Nurbs works, it can be a very good method for modeling anything.
:bandit: True, and to think that my first semester class in Maya was strictly centered around NURBS, curves, boundaries, etc. It wasn't until I started working with Polygons that an epiphany of sorts happened-- it was so easy, intuitive, clean, efficient, and it ALWAYS worked! If you were off a vertex or the curve was off when you cut the curves for boudraries, your entire model was screwed permanently in later stages, yet Polys could be undone at any stage.
Furthermore, there are simply a more robust tool set for Polygons-- NURBs are just too incomplete as of now. Maybe in the 9.5 version NURBs will be as developed as Polys.
