Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
Is it possible to make a flag or rag of some sort, without using cloth, and attach it to a motion path, and whenever it moves, it flutters around the corners like those extremely long ribbons that some ballerinas hold? You know, like when they twirl it around and it's all spirally? Any help would be appreciated.
Dynamics is my weak area too,but for that stuff I have seen that a waving flag effect is pretty easily done by making the surface into a soft body and add turbulence and/or gravity to it.(i usually play with those settings located in the atribute editor (contrl+A)
About how all this is done, I shouldn't be the right person to give advice, but that's one of the ways I have seen some people doing it.
About the spirally motion though, I have no clue , Maybe using some sort of motion path through a spiral curve? let's wait for someone else to give some more useful feedback i am in doubt too...

Another thing you may want to do with that when you create it is using the turbulence field along with maybe an air or volume axis as well, you don't need high settings on either of them
Since school started , i still haven't been able to get back to work on both of these 2 exercises, this flag motion path one and the other one about the explosion on the other post. hopefully over the weekend i'll get back to each of them. it's thesis year for me and knowing these may come in pretty handy.
