Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Haven't had time of Maya or SM recently, but decided it was time for me to have a play again today before i get to rusty. So here is my start on a PBR31 Mk2 patrol boat.
Like the canvas? canopy in particular, perhaps consider to make it more "sunken" and softer at the edges, maybe you have, just hard to tell in this render...keep posting mate
may i ask what kind of lighting you are using? i am trying to light my model.. but it not coming out ok with my lights.. can u tell me how u get those soft shadows?
People always ask that, but it's nothing more than a fairly standard GI_Joe; setup. Although i will add some more lights to give it some direction soon.
Just go to Highend3d.com (i think) and search for GI_Joe in the maya plug-ins section.
Thanks, that is very cool how it sets up lights for you.
could you tell me how i can activate it? there are BMP, Lights, and MEL file.. but I don't know how to turn it on... is there a menu where u turn on your downloaded scripts?
what you do i take the script file and put it in your scritps directory (C:/Doc....My Documents/Maya/Scripts (I think)). Then take your lights file and put that in a folder on the "C" drive, this folder can be called anything aslong as it has no spaces. Then open the script file in notepad and change line 57 so that it points to "C:/"insert new folder name"/GIJoe.lights. The just open maya and type GI_Joe; in the command line.
