This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Go in edge mode -- select the edges inbetween the faces, delete.
You may then want to go into vertex mode and see if there's any dots in the middle of nowhere caused by that... I can't remember whether or not it cleans up the orphaned vertices or not.
Tip: Get into the habit of using edit polygons -> delete edge as this removes the vertices as well. Look into adding a shortcut into your custom shelf so you can easily use it.
Simply pressing delete leaves the vertices in the model which can be bad later on.
