xray toggle

can anyone tell me how to install the xray toggle on my custom shelf. I have maya 7 on a mac:angery:

You cannot put them on a shelf like a normal tool. It's a mel script I found mine by just putting "maya x-ray script" into google. I think there is also a script in highend3d. Just have a look it only takes five minutes to get it.

Just out of curiosity what kind of mac do you have, cause I'm thinking of getting a new one (I really don't want to go back to windows) At the moment im running maya on an Ibook g4 900mhz.....:angery: and as you can imagine it sucks!

Hey,

I run Maya on 2 Macs, and it works great on both.
A Powerbook G4 1.67 Ghz and a powermac G5 2x 2.7 Ghz. One is obviously slightly faster than the other....

i have had toggle x-ray on my shelf for a while now. its says "mel" like any other mel script that you put on your shelf (i put a some text underneath it to know what it is). but does anyone know how to change the picture of the icon of the mel script??
i already have a pic small enough, but i dont know how to put it on.

pls help!

Why do you want to have it on your shelf?
I assume that "your" xray effect is the same one as mine, but I do it by going to Shading/X-Ray.
since you can access this command from any viewport that shouldn't be problem.
