I am major trouble with this, I have maya 7.0.1 PLE and all my tools on the left side will not work, I can't even select them. If create a object, I can't even right click and get the menu to popup on the object. Please help me and I am getting really kicked off on this. I just need to find a way to reset the whole thing so I cna use these tools.

EDIT: the tools will work when I do the keyboard, but if I select on one of the tools on the left side, move, rotate, scale, etc. they will not select when using mouse. Also I can't get the menu to popup so I can select, faces, vertex, etc.
