Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Object disappears with HQR and GeForce

Yes, I know how to find the Maya qualification charts and yes I know that if I had a Quadro, this wouldn't be happening. I know this because I have a Quadro.

My system is thus:
WinXP
Maya 7.0.1
P42GHz
1.5GB ram
GeForce 5800 Ultra

I have a simple model with a color map and normal map. when I turn on High Quality Rendering, the model disappears. I can select it and if I do the wireframe shows up, and if turn off HQR, then I get a lit and shaded view.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix it?

Thanks a ton,
PG

edit: If I open a file that has HQR turned on, Maya fatals and generates a *.ma file.

edit 2: Ok, Vlad, I'll be more specific... user added image
