My first dumb question(mark my words!)

Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1

This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

I have hunted for a noob explanation within Maya(pressed f1 and looked at the help file)and did a search here but I am pretty much still at a loss.......Here is the question:
Q. How can I change the backgrounds that are seen in a render?
Told you it was a dumb one!

in you view go to - view - camara attribute editor - there is a setting called "enviroments" there it is user added image

and no question is dumb if you dont know so feel free to ask away!
