Hidden Artifacts

Hi guys, I have been trying to export this model for some time now yet been having probs, i can see inside maya how this will look in its exported format in realtime, as shown in the blue window. Though the white parts also shown in the window are not parts of the model and i believe are hidden in the interface. I cannot see them in the scene but they appear in the exporter viewer. I believe these are the problems as to why i cannot export successfully. ***Though*** Do note, if i delete the right hand on the character, the right hand AND the floating right hand also deletes almost like it is parented together, similarly with the left side. So, any ideas how to get rid of these hidden artifacts?

Your time starts now, good luck.

Mike

could be remaining hard mesh from after converting to sub-d, did you delete the history before binding?

not sure if i deleted the history prior, would that be a major prob to solve? as there are no extra unused nodes.

Dont think this is the same, I cannot see these issues in my maya scene, they only appear in the exporter viewer. So I know they are there just do not know how to get rid of them when i cannot see or edit them.
