Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Animating the influence strength of a lattice?

Is there a way to animate a shape from its basic form to a lattice deformation? I haven't found the option to reduce the influence strength of the lattice to 0. Otherwise I just would set a keyframe with 0 and one with 1 so the shape smoothly goes from one look to the deformed one. Any ideas for a quick way?

If you set the "envelope" setting on the ffd that is assigned to the lattice (check for the ffd node in the attributes editor) to 0 that should do what you're asking.

or

You can deplicate your model and have a version affected by the lattice and one that isn't, and then create a blend shape to animate between the 2.
