Wheel Animation

Hi everyone, have you ever encountered optical effects wierdness when animating stuff? Well, I am animating a car wheel in Maya and the orientation of the rotation is correct, but when rendering, the wheels seem to stop and rotate the opposite way they are suppose to because of the optical effect.

Could somebody help me?

thank you
