Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

How to force a point-light to render even when located off screen?

Hey Everyone -

I've been searching through the Maya manuals for hours trying to find the answer to this question - I'm sure it just a simple attribute setting or whatnot, but just can't figure it out!

I have a post-fx on a point-light (creating a "sun like" light source). The problem is the post fx doesn't seem to render the when the point light isn't the frame.

In other words, when I do a camera pan upwards to the sky, rather than point FX entering the frame nice and smoothly, the post fx just suddenly appears in frame when the point light enters frame - as if it just appeared out of nowhere.

Is there a setting I can use to force the post fx to render even when the point light is out of frame?

Cheers,
Kitcar
