Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

starting a shape

I've noticed in the tutorials and also on Maya PLE, when you go to bring in an object, (nurb, polygon, sub-D) It automaticly places it at center in a specific size. I use Maya 8.0 and when I bring in an object, I have to always size it myself. How can set up my Maya so that it always comes in to a specific size?

Thanks,

Just go to "Create" then go to the primitives of your choice (Polygon, Nurbs) and uncheck "Interactive Creation".

Or you could hold hold down "X" while drawing your object to keep it aligned to the grid.

Thanks a lot!!! That worked.
I'm still trying to figure out and remember all these little settings.
