Looks like the legs are a little short on your model, I would match his proportions, legs, arms etc with some reference (theres some good freeones in this months 3d world)

Lol, yeah the image is of a die cast model which I am using as reference. Soz for the misunderstanding. Made a start on the legs. Will re-do the belt.
I have ordered the issue of 3d world you suggested gster. Hopefully I will be able to improve on the proportions once it arrives.

comment on the model- the torso seems big for the legs
also should u be able to see that much muscel definition through his leotard?

Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

I have begun trying to sort out a decent light set up in order to get a decent render. If anyone knows of any good tuts or has any good tips for this it would be much appreciated.

Done some work on the cape. When I model his bat pants I will increase the size of his baterang.

his cape is looking excellent and i really like the dark colors used in his costume.

the leg muscles are kind of letting this down though - they just don't look like they are in quite the right place.... and his pose is looking very stilted - i think you need to go back and look at how the angle of the limbs contrast against one another - so your upper leg angles back, your lower leg angles forward, etc - at the moment everything is just too static.

also, the model kind of looks like it's tilted forward.

hope the crit isn't too harsh - just pointing out things I see cos I think the model is worth it.

Not at all arran, you are probably right and I think the legs are going to still need work to get things right. With regards to the pose, I am not really to concerned about this since I plan to rig him so I can set up a far more dramatic pose. I need to get things right with the modeling before I can do this though.

I will keep pluging away to try and get things right. Hopefully at the end of this I will have a much better idea of anatomy which will help me complete some of my other models.

all i can say with the lighting is a nice rim light is needed
3 light setup should be fine (jermy Birn digital light and rendering book is great for this stuff)
