stitching polygons?

can anybody tell me if it is possible to attach one polygon edge to another? I have been trying to poly model a human face, but where i angle and rotate some poly faces to follow the contours of the reference, gaps appear inbetween the polygons, is there an equivalent of lofting or planar-ing in the poly model to attach two seperate polygons so that they then act in unison?

it sounds like you didn't keep your faces together when you extruded. try looking under teh tool option menu (i'm guessing it's under edit mesh) and tick keep faces together.

to fix the gaps on your model, just select each vertex and hold down V to snap it to the other vetices - then use the merge verices tool to weld them together.

hope that helps! user added image

i think everything kurt does involves him duplicating and stitching up his meshes...
ok not actually, but of the free ones his basic human form and dog tutorials do it...

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

glad it helped user added image if the faces aren't connected next time you do an extrusion then do a search for keep faces together in maya help (f1). i'm using an older version of maya so it's probably in a different place.
