Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

car render

followed a tutorial and this is what i came out with. i did my own render though. let me know what you think.

Hey that looks pretty good, though I think the gamma is washing out the image a bit.

yeah im glad you noticed that too. what can i do to keep the image color looking like the original. here is the original image.

I don't know what to do about your image, I'd say theres transparency on it, or something. I have no idea.

But the car looks good, could use a bit more reflection and a more glossy feel but it looks good.


That body paint program looks pretty interesting, how is the program to use and how is the transition between maya to body paint back to maya?

well im not sure what the body paint program is. is just used the car paint shader in maya. lol

well you could render the car sitting on a plane with a 'use background' shader and save that as a file that saves alpha like a .tif or .tga - then open the original background image in photoshop and import the car render onto a new layer...
