Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Hi All,

I am fairly new to maya so be kind please user added image

I have a scene with several objects and lights.

I want some lights to only affect some of the objects in the scene.

The process is called "light linking".

Go to Windows>Relationship Editors>Lightlinking, and select either Object-centric, or Light-centric. With object, you select the object, and then the lights that affect it. With light, you select the lights, then the objects.

Have fun!
