good tut to start from

hey guys

i'm looking for a good tutorial to start with. not just the video ones, i've been trying some of those. I learned the split polygon tool but the one on extrude really confused me. i dont know what the point of those even are user added image

so if somebody knows a good tutorial to start with let me know

hit F1 while in Maya and go from there.

Do the hammer tut. You'll then understand the extrude face.

Hi XK, yep like Ultragames said the hammer tutorial will explain to you why the extrude faces tool is used, I just did the tutorial the other day and found it very helpful, I'm working my way through all the tutorials in Maya atm, they're very easy to follow and explain everything very well.

mtmckinley, it was probably just me, after you kept extruding and expanding that object i kind of got lost trying to follow. You dont need to redo it though user added image One thing you could do next time is have the sound of the video a little higher, i really need to turn up my speakers to hear what you're saying.

yea its not a big problem i just turn it up more on listening to it user added image
