Im sure this sounds simple to most, but Im trying to create a ledge between this cylindrical plate.

But the line along which Id like to extrude meets at a point.
How would you go about extruding this ledge correctly?

Thanks

Is the second one done by deleting inside cap and expanding?..then merge opposite vertices?

For the second one I've deleted inner cap and extruded opposite ends. Is this correct?

Where do I go from here?

Well, you don't get the smoothness where they should join if you do it that way.

I did like he did I think, delete inner part and bridge across, seems to be working out ok,

Thanks

it depends on what you are trying to make. When I made the bungs for my 44 gallon drums I did it doms way with seperate geo and bevel the top of the cube...otherwise its difficult as you will edge loop to get it to smooth well but this will deform the overall shape of the dish if Im correct.

cheers bullet

this was done doms way...seperate geo..bevelled the top 2 edges on the cube the smoothed all.
