Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

rigid bodies-set end

Hello,

I have a scene with a lot of blocks that fall from the sky.
They land on a table. They are all active rigid bodies.

Is they a way to set the end posiiton for them, but have the dynamics take care of the falliing and bouncing?

Thanks,
Ari

You could "bake" your simulation?

but that wouldn't give you ..... wait a minute!

What if you were to make your "blocks" goals for particle blocks?

Then it "should" work closer to what you want, but since it's a flat table, you might have to key it after a certain point?

Not sure tho....

Heh, I just came up with a wild idea. How about simulating the dynamics backwards user added image Don't know how it would look but at least they would end up where you want when played from end to start user added image

Thanks for the help...

Can you explain a bit more what you mean by doing it backwards?

Thanks,
Ari
