This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
I'm modelling a DJ kit, and few of these round touch buttons are placed in a circular depression. I'm finding it pretty hard to cut out a perfect circular hole. Someone, help me out here please.
You can use a boolean, create a cylinder with 8 sides this will cut into 4 polygons together, once you have used the boolean clean up the mesh look at the right hand one this has been cleaned using the snap to vertice the merge and split poly tool, add edge loops to make tight edge
Thats a cool way...I love booleans but havent used them for a while. Another really quick way I have made a video for you mate. At the end I thought of edge loops but it didnt work...some edge extrusion is still needed etc. This is just another way of getting around Maya..there are 1000's. This can also be applied when a boolean doesnt work...sometimes I just extract a face...do the extrusions and then snap the verts back together. Hope all of these suggestions help you out mate...and yes I only just saw/thought of it looking at yours dave...hmmm me thinks more lager is the order of the day!
