Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

So there's no way to change the defaults to the attributes of Maya, Interesting.

Thanks

Have you tried using google and the search on this site? These threads are really annoying. Why don't you make one thread for all of these questions?

Answer: modify lambert1 colour.

Honestdom-

Was not meaning to offend you. And yes I have Googled almost everything I am asking to this forum. It my questions annoy you, ignore them ok .

My apologies to you. I wish there was a way to kill threads on here but there's not. This thread I though is for newbies, I am one to Maya.

I do a lot of reading and most of the things I've run across makes no sense in way so after I look around myself for answers and can't get them I than come here and ask.

I do not mean to be rude However you are to me. Again just ignore my post.

Thanks

you are missing the point. I said why don't you ask them all in one thread? Its annoying if you make lots of threads. The questions are not annoying.

I think if you find that rude, then you will have a problem when you get a bit older.

PenPixals - the default grey color is based on the default lambert shader. If you open the hypershade you will see lambert1. If you change the color of this lambert then all new objects will have the new color.

beyond that you have more options (I say more because I am not sure these are the only ones as there are lots of ways to do thing that I have not yet discovered)....

(1) change the color of the default lambert

(2) goto window>settings and preferences>color settings ... here you can change the color settings for anything in the maya ui

(3) for any object goto attribute editor>object>display>drawing overrides and enable overrides and make the color of that object anything you want
