Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Rocks and other organic surfaces?

I would like to add random displacement to the surface of a polygon(like the noise modifier in 3dmax) and create rough surfaces like rocks, etc. I don't mean displacement maps, i want a way to model uneven organic surfaces, i am new to maya and i don't know how to do that.

You can use the sculpt poly tool and do it more or less manually. You can also select the vertices and use transform component with a value in the random field.
