This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Just baked a simple occlusion on the track at the moment might just put a dirt texture on it then play around with a occlustion map to take of dirt...............dave
Edit:have to find a good reference shot of the tread to see how it was made most of the ones around now have road tread witch is not the same as this
Got a bit of a cold but still trying to move on, Started putting some ware on the paint front fenders are the most noticable scratches and ware..............dave
Aye. Your texturing has stepped up a division Dave, if not two. The inverted occlusion thing for the dirt is a nice touch.... The dirt in the treads and wheels looks great.
Thanks Pixal, Rick and Ben
Trying not to put to much ware on it as I would have thought that Shermans going to France (thats were my scene will be set) would have had a paint job before departing England. The occlution dirt thing does give a good starting point still have some seams to fix.
Rick could I please use your gerry can I still have to model some US cans and ammo boxes might have to model some of the tank crew, just some little bits done you can hardly see them..............dave
Thanks again Rick
Had a little rest from texturing modelling A US jerry can nearly done, here is a interesting link as to why the jerry can is made like it is..............dave
