Old Lessons

Hi all, I am a newbie to Maya but not to 3D in general having been using other apps such as Cinema 4D.
Years ago (approx 2007) I bought some Maya Tutorials but did not get round to using them due to other priorities, but now I have some time on me and would like to dig them out. My question is how relevant are they to the state of Maya now, has Maya changed so much since that I have to buy new tutorials or can I get started with them? Basically how much has Maya fundamentally changed since then?

Thanking you in advance.

The only thing a new person would notice would be that the menus have been changed quite a bit. The tools are still there, but under different pull-downs.

^That. So long as you have a decent understanding of the interface in whichever version you're on, you'll be fine. Though I think some tools may have been added in recent versions which make certain processes easier

Kabanda, I'm currently trying to learn Maya using 2012. The last tutorial I ran through was written in Maya 8 and the one I'm currently using is using Maya 4.5 and apart from having to dig around in the toolset to find some things, there's not that much different so far as poly modeling tools are concerned...
