Hair Help

I've been working with Maya 2012 for about a year now and I've finally gotten to the point that I'm working with hair. I made the hair all the way through using a tutorial, and it looks great! The only problem is that (even though I parented the head-cap to the character and its UV mapped) it doesn't stick to my model at all when I animate it! Does anyone know why? If so please help!

I was using Lesson 15 on: https://www.digitaltutors.com/11/trai...356&autoplay=1
He doesn't animate it, which is probably why it wasn't sticking to my person.

My teacher doesn't know how to use Maya Hair, or model it in any way, so I really appreciate any help on this!

It's hard to tell without the file. Just saying "does anyone know why it isn't working" doesn't give us enough information to be able to solve the problem.

Sorry, I've never worked with hair before so I didn't know if there was something specific I'm supposed to do to make sure it sticks to the character.

If I posted pictures could it help? It won't let me post the file up here, neither in a zip or in its original form.

sorry not really read the thread... don't the follicles follow the mesh like a rivet? you could try a wrap, it would be super heavy tho.
as ND said, need file probably. :/
