ncloth issue

Hello, i am quite new to using ncloth and has some questions

I set up my character in t-pose and the cloth is set in place. In frame 10, my character is in a different pose and then i set my cloth initial state from current but when i go back to the t-pose frame which is the first frame, the cloth is totally turned into a mess. And also when i got to set my initial state, i have to play it from the beginner until my desired frame in order to deform the cloth properly..is there a easier way?

What is the general workflow for ncloth and also solutions?

thanks

I can't really help you on that, but I remember seeing a tut or two on here with ncloth, the other one was rigging Jay's alien. Might be overdue for a ncloth dedicated tut here *ehem* user added image

Have you thought of caching the simulation?

Haha one's already in the making in fact, it's something very complicated including nHair, ropes and sails that's way above my head. Looks cool though user added image

I think what went wrong is you set you ncloth at frame 10 then you have gone back to frame 1 where your body mesh is in the t-pose, try starting a frame -10 or more then let the ncloth go to it resting place then set your ncloth..............dave

thanks for the replies user added image , i kinda understand the workflow with ncloth now, it's more troublesome than i thought.

But i have a new question, is there a way to disable collision between the ncloth and the faces? I just want to disable collision for some faces such as the hands so i wont get weird deformation when the hands touches the cloth.

You could extract the hand mesh as a seperate mesh but the question should be why is there still some deformation of the mesh................dave

i mean the deformation with the cloth when the hand touches it. When the hands touches the cloth, the cloth seem to be sticking to it, creating weird deformations.

I also thought of seperating the mesh but wondering if there is a better solution out there?
