How the heck do you stop that offset edge loop tool?

No tutorial is straight forward on youtube.

How do you stop it? Just don't use it :/

Your question is pretty vague. Providing us with more information will help us find a solution.

Hi the problem was that after clicking on the offset edge loop, I only wanted to add one extra line but the tool would not stop, every time I clicked anywhere a new line added. That problem was solved, now my problem is this

How can I select either insert edge loop or offset without this box coming aswell?

Sorry I know I ask a lot of question since signing up here.user added image

This box just complicates things. When I practice the offset/inset tool on a simple cube, its pretty straight forward.. Click on a edge and place line where wanted. This box is not necessary user added image

The "box" is a wireframe of your unsmoothed base mesh. You will get this when using the edge loop tool while in smooth preview mode (3).
