So my friend helped with the amp installation. First of all I got new front left and right powered speakers. So all I needed was to use the amp for the Centre and the four sorround speakers. Played transformers 3 as my listening test, did not hear much of a difference only when I played it really loud is when I noticed the speakers did not feel like they were straining and were "smoother" on the ear.

the front L/R speakers I bought from a friend they are the polk audio RT1000 powered speakers centre is a polk CSI400 and the sorrounds are polk fx audios. Subwoofer is a polk PSW450. Will post pictures later of the io ports. This is the amp.

I re-run the ypao speaker setup and the whole system became alive. Played my copy of Avengers and my word... I'm speechless. Everything seems so clear i am officially in audio heaven. I watched movies all night. The downside is the electric bill... cant wait for the wife to see that!

Sounds like you have a great start on your theater now! I recommend ( some day in the future) that you replace your current polks with a set of seven matching speakers with the same speaker drivers and tweeters for all channels. That way your sound field will be evenly balanced. Also ( someday ) upgrade your emotiva amp to the 7 channel version because the amps in those Polk RT1000's are lower quality.

I thought you got the Definitive tech sub? What happened? That polk sub is only 150 watts, and it's ported, and only goes down to 35hz.

tax+ shipping+ step down converter= 2500 $. Did not make a whole lot of sense to me. All my speakers cost me 1000$ inclusive of the sub. I chose the sub cause the bass from the RTi 1000s seemed adequate when i demoed them. I am actually loving the lfe effects from the sub( maybe its just that i dont have an audiophile ear) I thought that to get a proper sound field you need to buy speakers from the same manufacturer. Didnt know that i had to buy the exact same speakers. But the audio sounds so good..... anyway damage is done.

Ah, I see. You should still consider a better sub someday in the future. Alot of your heavy hitting action movies like The Avengers will take advantage of the 20hz bass region. Sad thing is most all of the cheap powered subs are not able to go that low. Bass in the 20hz region is pretty amazing. But, you know the old saying, you don't miss what you have never heard.

I should have made that more understandable, my apologies.

Anway, looking forward to seeing some pics of your stuff when you get the chance.

Definitely. Just left researching a proper projector. Also do I need to know anything about the the type of screen or should I just buy a white cotton cloth and build the screen.

What is the point off adding lenses to a projector?

Don't build a screen. A screen needs to be able to absorb light from the projector to make a bright image, and white cotton cloth wont do it. Your picture will come off looking a bit dull if you use cotton cloth. Here are two companies that make great home theater screens STEWART FILMSCREEN and Da-Lite . I can get a nice 120 inch Stewart filmscreen from my local best buy store for just a couple hundred bucks.

About projector lenses, what kind of projector are you looking at that requires you to change lenses? Most all video now is anamorphically squeezed, and the projector should be able to electronically compensate for non-anamorphic video like LASER DISC, home video, and the early DVD format.

Also, I forgot to mention a while back that you need invest into power conditioning. It will protect your electronics from dangerous power surges and it will clean your power, and clean power will give you cleaner sound and picture. I use one from MONSTER CABLE on my system and it works wonders. I even use a second one on my PC.
